The Initial Public Comment period closed on October 29, 2018.

The next opportunity to comment on this project screening will be after the release of the Draft Screening Report.

The Coffee Gold Mine Project is an open pit gold mine, located approximately 130 km south of Dawson City, to be in operation for a minimum of 12 years. Mining activities include a cyanide heap leach facility, water management infrastructure, a dry-stacked tailings facility and waste rock storage facilities.

Natural Resources Canada, a decision body for the project, requested an extension to the public comment period in order to allow for their technical experts time to review the proposal and provide comments related to hydrogeology, permafrost, and seismic hazards.
